Six new jobs created as Newquay GC opens new café

Newquay Garden Centre at Quintrell Downs officially opened its new café to the public last weekend.

Café Quint was opened by former BBC Radio Cornwall presenter Chris Blount.

Six jobs have been created with the new venture and Lisa Dummett, who owns the business with husband Marc, said it represented a major investment in the site.

"The coffee shop's an exciting addition for us and I'd like to thank everyone who supported us on Saturday and all those who helped make Café Quint a reality," said Lisa.

Visitors on Saturday also raised money for the Joe Way Appeal through a raffle for a selection of donated prizes.

Also present was Ian Bodman with his 1989 Renault Clio – on Boxing Day he will be setting off to drive from Cornwall to the Gambia in aid of the Joe Way Appeal, a venture which the garden centre is supporting.

Café Quint will serve morning coffee, light lunches and afternoon tea.
