Tarporley Garden Centre creates its biggest Christmas department

The British Garden Centres Christmas Elves have been working hard at Tarporley Garden Centre to create their biggest and, arguably, best Christmas Department!

Working through some of the highest ever temperatures recorded at the centre, the team has pulled out all the stops and completed the festive task in record time, so the department has already opened (20th August).

Phillippa Stubbs, Group Director, and part of the family that bought Tarporley in 2019, went on to say, "Christmas is one of our busiest seasons and we see thousands come though the centre doors and talking to customers over the last few weeks we know that people are planning a great festive celebration this year BUT also want to spread the cost over a number of months. By getting the department open early we are helping them to do this. We have 61 centres in the group now and we decided to open the department at Tarporley first this year as we know how popular the displays are with customer, young and old".

Tarporley Garden Centre employs over 60 people, this has more than doubled since the centre joined the British Garden Centres Family. Talking of the future, Phillippa went on to say, "we are very excited to have planning permission to develop the centre further. We're getting to understand the area and have some great ideas for Tarporley that I and the team look forward to revealing next year."

This is the first year British Garden Centres have launched a Christmas department before the August bank holiday, beating most of the high street retailers to being the first to launch for the season. This is a massive achievement for the group and something they hope to continue in the next few years.
