Poppleton Garden Centre expansion to create more jobs
One of the Garden Centre Group’s stores near York expects to be granted planning permission to extend its indoor retail space, and build a larger café. The extension of Poppleton Garden Centre to the east and south will also involve extending the canopy above the plantarea.
More landscaping area is proposed for the current car park area, and a pedestrian access point is planned next to the crossing island on the A59. The centre also aims to use the land at the back of the centre to grow additional stock.
Planning officers, who met on Thursday, recommended the plans for approval, which would mean the creation of around 50 new jobs.
