After the sales crash of the ‘election week’, garden centre sales volumes bounced back to be ahead of last year despite a heat wave that could easily have seen more people disappearing to the beach rather than visiting garden centres.
And garden centres are also reporting significant increases in turnover as the high temperatures sparked renewed interest in garden furniture and barbecues.
With continued hot weather during this week people will be using their gardens even more so there is plenty of potential for further sales gains to make up for the May shortfall.
