The search for a new GCA Chief Executive is on

The Garden Centre Association is starting its recruitment process for a new Chief Executive Officer.

The new CEO will work closely with the Executive committee to lead the organisation.

GCA Chairman, Tammy Woodhouse, said: “We are now officially recruiting for the position of CEO. The successful individual will have ultimate responsibility and accountability for the Association. They will work closely with the Executive committee to lead the organisation, influence, and implement the strategic direction and operational management to ensure we meet the needs of our members in line with our vision, mission and values.

“We are looking for an individual who has worked in a senior management position, experience, or knowledge of either the garden centre industry or working within a member organisation would be advantageous.

“Our ideal candidate will be a confident individual with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders; protects and promotes our values, and is an ambassador within the industry. They also need to have a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel within the UK and overseas.

“The full job description is available at https://bit.ly/3eG1uQf. We will be hosting an assessment day in London on November 16 for potential candidates, which applicants will need to be available to attend. To apply, or for more details, please contact lian@thevirtualrecruiter.co.uk.”

The GCA represents nearly 200 garden centres nationwide.

Through sharing information and its inspection programme the GCA helps members to achieve high standards in customer service, plant quality and reliability.
