Half-term holidays give a boost for garden product sales too

Preparations for the festive season provided a welcome boost for garden product sales during half-term week, as well as the expected growth in Christmas specific sales.

Cover pots are in huge demand with Scheurich dominating sales. Their Dark Red 15cm cover pot (pictured right), which has seen a 100% increase in sales, moves up to No 3 in the garden products chart, while their Fuchsia cover pot is the highest new entry at No 8. The company have two other cover pot entries – Bronze at No 27 and Vero Rosso at No 31.

Vivid Arts are another company experiencing good sales at the moment with their decorative animals. Their Natural Friends Playful Penguin is the highest re-entry at No 11 while the Pet Pals Baby Donkey is also proving popular, becoming a new entry at No 26.

We’ve noticed the early arrival of poinsettias in garden centres this year, and they are clearly selling well. As a result the Fito Drip Feeder for Poinsettia and Christmas Cactus re-enters the chart at No 47. Fito hang on to the No 1 position for another week with their ever-popular Drip Feeder for Orchids.

Another notable re-entry is the Classic Wheelie Bin Numbers at No 12.

The garden clean-up in readiness for winter continues at a pace with garden gloves, in particular in huge demand. And gardeners are keeping an eye out for those cold night with the Solus Digital Weatherstation a new entry at No 21.

Garden lighting is the other bestseller with six different products in the Top 50, headed by Gardman Wind Chime Light at No 4. Other key lines include:
  • Gardman LED Light String Starlight 50 lights, a re-entry at No 22.
  • Gardman Solar Mosaic Border Lights at No 28.
  • Smart Solar Owl Light at No 37 and Smart Solar Happy Hens Spotlights at No 38.
  • Gardman Round Rattan Lantern at No 45.
