Plantaria managers and growers did not need the second blast of cold weather last week. With sales down vs last year for the fifth successive week, and last week they were down by 53% to the level as at the end of February, plant benches are crammed with stock that needs to be moved on.
Primula remain on top, but sales volumes were down 40% on the same week last year.
Sales of young tomato plants increased by 124% as they became available and moved up to No 6.
Wallflowers, Erysimum, moved up 25 places to No 17, but volume sales were down by 70%.
