Will Armitage, Jackie Eades and Conna Powles have launched Mulch. Ltd, a company formed to carefully curate a range of high quality, performance led and sensibly sourced gardening products.

The initial product offering is a range of quality gardening tools and boutique style gardening gloves.

Will Armitage, Operations Director and Head Gardener, explained to GTN Xtra: "Our tools are designed and finished in the UK using clever people who have been making tools for high end corporations for many years and they are built to last.   We're not using stainless steel as that bends too much and they are forged as one piece of carbon steel so there are no weak welding points.

"We intend for our tools to be handed down, generation on generation, as they used to be."

Jackie Eades, Sales Director and Conversation Starter, said: "The Mulch. Ltd range of products has been designed to complement existing retail offerings, often sitting alongside current ranges, to provide the consumer with a good quality and responsibly sourced option.  The range is designed with niche appeal and, as a boutique brand, we are serious about our products, but we like to have fun with the branding to engage the customer."

Will, who was formerly Managing Director of Armitages Garden Centres and Past Chairman of the GCA, and Jackie, formerly of Briers and Fallen Fruits, are joined in the new venture by Conna Powles who was previously Buying Director at Haskins Garden Centres and Hobbycraft and Adam Bamforth formerly of Magic Rock Brewing Company and KPMG.
