Just over three weeks until the GIMA Awards 2023

The garden retail sector is abuzz as the GIMA Awards are set to return in just over three weeks on 19th October  Taking place at the Celtic Manor resort in Newport, South Wales, the event will once again be a hotbed of celebration and networking, with 17 coveted awards up for grabs.  With the unveiling of these lucky winners now just weeks away, GIMA’s attention turns to its sponsors, without whom the event would not be possible.

Made up of manufacturers, suppliers and media representatives, and sponsoring everything from the winner’s champagne to the table and pre-dinner drinks, raffle prizes and category sponsors, this year’s roster is testament to the generosity of those who support the awards every year.

Returning as headline sponsors will be Glee, the leading trade exhibition for the garden retail sector. Glee’s Event Director, Matthew Mein, said: “The GIMA Awards are an integral part of our industry and an event that we look forward to throughout the year. We are so pleased to continue as headline sponsors and to support the event year after year. Here’s to all the winners and all those that entered. Your passion and dedication to new product development is what makes our industry such a joy to be part of.”

2023 category sponsors will include eBay, who will be sponsoring both the Garden Tools award as well as the table drinks, whilst Decco will sponsor the Garden Care award. The HTA will return as sponsors of the Sustainability Award, with Gardenex and the GCAcontinuing their long-term support of the Export Achievement and the Supplier of the Year awards, respectively.

Keeping guests entertained between courses will be the Hozelock sponsored Table raffles, whilst the main charity raffle will be sponsored by recruitment specialists, MorePeople.  Both raffles will raise funds for the Greenfingers Charity, helping them to continue to build therapeutic spaces at children’s hospices across the UK.

This year, the menu and dinner sponsor will be Gardena, whilst pre-dinner drinks will be courtesy of sponsors Primeur and EP Barrus.  Primeur will also be sponsoring the new-for-2024 late night bacon butties, which will no doubt be a welcome treat for many!

Other sponsors will include Meadow View Stone, sponsors of this year’s table decorations; CM Ventures, who have kindly supplied all the 2023 GIMA Awards marketing collateral; andHornby Whitefoot PR, sponsors of the winner’s champagne.  2023 media sponsors will be Garden Trade News (GTN) and Garden Radio, Gardenforum, Horticulture Week and Garden Centre Retail.

GIMA Director, Vicky Nuttall, said: “As always, on behalf of everyone that enjoys the GIMA Awards, the biggest thank you to our sponsors for their support. It’s great to see new names join the roster and to see so many return once again as sponsors. Your generosity enables us to continue to deliver such a superb night, and one that continues to grow year after year.”
