The first of three phases of works at Garston Docks, Liverpool, has recently been completed to increase Meadow View Stone's washing and prepack production by 60,000 tonnes/annum.
The facilities, designed and constructed to include an additional sixteen external storage bays, a state-of-the-art washing plant, four fully robotic bagging lines, and a new 20,000 ft2 warehouse, provides the group with an increased additional stock holding of £5million.
High volumes of stock are held across the Groups four production sites and three further dockside storage facilities, enabling the business to react quickly and dynamically to demand.
Furthermore, the strategically located sites help to reduce vehicle movements/mileage so contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of the product range.
The fundamental strategy of the Group is to be fully in control of the whole supply chain.
Sarah Hill, Managing Director, stated “We have worked hard in developing, key supply agreements and new product development with our European partners, managing the bulk shipping of these products and investing in the infrastructure with state-of-the-art production processing, at multiple locations, sees the business very strongly positioned to facilitate further growth.”
