Make hay while the sun shines

Early Bird offers and sale lines were being scooped up by customers big time last week as garden product sales for the second week of January reached a record high.

With a drier weather forecast for the weekend, garden centres who’ve got their gardening offering up and ready for business quickly after Christmas will be making hay while the sun shines.

Highlights of the week were:

  • Three core gardening products re-enter the chart at the top this week: Evergreen Garden Care Levington Tomorite 1L + 30% Free is at No 1; Vitax Q4 Fertiliser 4.5kg is at No 2; and Vitax 6X Natural Fertiliser 8k is at No 3.
  • Smart Solar’s Funky Fruit Green Apple Light is the highest chart climber, up to No 4.
  • Briers Secateurs Black are the highest new chart entry, in at No 11.
