Love birds with Webbs in National Nest Box Week

Youngsters will be encouraging wild birds to thrive thanks to nest box decorating events at Webbs garden centres in Wychbold and West Hagley during half term week.
The hands-on workshops celebrate National Nest Box Week which aims to encourage everyone to put up nest boxes in their local area to help breeding birds and wildlife.
From Monday 15th – Friday 19th February youngsters can visit Webbs, Wychbold and Webbs, West Hagley and decorate a wooden nest box then take it home for the garden. The sessions run from 10am – 4pm and cost £5 to include all materials. Tickets are available to buy on the day.
At Webbs, Wychbold there is also a chance for families to follow a fun trail around the beautiful Riverside Gardens. Entry to the gardens is free and all correct trail entries will go into a draw to win a prize.
Webbs Chairman Ed Webb said, “It’s a great time to remind ourselves to encourage our local bird life and children will love decorating these ready-made nest boxes.”
He added, “The idea behind the week is to get us all to put up nest boxes in our local areas, not only to protect the wildlife we already have, but to encourage even more birds in our backyards.
"Creating a nest box gives you the chance to contribute to bird conservation whilst giving you the pleasure of observing any breeding birds that you attract to your garden.
"Natural nest sites for birds such as holes in trees or old buildings are disappearing fast as gardens are ‘tidied’ and old houses are repaired so it’s good to all do our bit.”
