Thank goodness for veg plant sales

With double digit year on year drops in sales all around us, it’s reassuring to know that growing veg from young plants is almost holding its own.

This week’s Veg-2-Gro chart volume was only 3% down on the same week last year which is why the rolling year to date variance is still almost 20% up.

Judging by the interest shown in the Chris Evans/Mary Berry Taste garden at Chelsea this week (pictured above) there is still plenty of potential for more growth.

The main highlights this week were:
  • Quantil Runner Bean White Emergo Strips clung on to the top spot.
  • Quantil Tomato Beefmaster 8cm was the highest climber, jumping 31 places to No 11.
  • Quantil Tomato Totem 8cm was the highest re-entry at No 18.
  • Quantil Runner Bean White Emergo 8cm was the highest new entry.
