Martin Breddy to take over as MD of Squires Garden Centres

Colin Squire (Chairman) and his daughter Sarah (Deputy Chairman) have announced the appointment of Martin Breddy as Managing Director designate of Squire’s Garden Centres.
Martin will take up the role of Managing Director in May following the retirement of Dennis Espley at the end of April 2016.
Sarah said: "We received a really tremendous number of applications for this position and met some very impressive and credible candidates. In our view Martin’s skills and experience will best complement the talents of our existing team. We very much look forward to working with Martin and to growing and developing our business further in the coming years."Martin is well known and respected in the horticultural industry having spent over a decade with the Scotts Miracle Gro Company where he was promoted to the Managing Director position UK in 2005 and subsequently took on the role of Regional Vice President in charge of the UK and Asia Pacific areas. Prior to that Martin’s experience includes many years with Unilever and subsequently Glendinning Management Consultants. Martin is a graduate of Cambridge University and has attended the Harvard Business School Executive Programme. He was also Chairman of the UK Growing Media Association 2009 – 2011. Martin is cricketing enthusiast and is chairman of Frensham Cricket Club where he is voluntary coach to the youth section and has realised a long-term ambition to qualify as an ECB coach.
