As the country wrapped up against the snow and freezing conditions over the weekend of Garden Re-Leaf and Mother's Day, garden centres throughout the land were encouraged by an increase in buying activity in their stores.
Sales of multipurpose compost have increased significantly this week, and along with farmyard manure, they are dominating the GTN Bestsellers Growing Media chart.
Scotts Levington Multipurpose + John Innes has moved up to No 2 behind Westland Multipurpose while Shamrock Multipurpose Compost is the highest climber, rising 22 places to No 4.
The highest re-entry is Arthur Bowers John Innes No 3 while the company’s Multipurpose + John Innes has seen a 100% increase in sales.
