One of the best ideas from The Greatest Catering Awards is this coffee plant as a table decoration and on sale in the Dahlia Coffee House at Ayletts in St Albans.

Initally brought in for a coffee festival promotion, the coffee plants in a series of coffee cups sell for £3.95 each.

“They sold so well we’ve just kept them running as table decorations. We’ve sold 700 already,” said catering manager Liz Alexander.

“I keep popping in and seeing tables with no plants on,” added Adam Wigglesworth. “They sell so well each day we just have to keep replenishing on the tables.”
