GrowTropicals has been confirmed as the UK's official supplier of DocBlock® Anthuriums for 2026 and beyond. The announcement comes alongside news that one of the programme's flagship cultivars, Anthurium Michelle®, has been shortlisted for the RHS Chelsea Plant of the Year Award.

The DocBlock® line is bred by Dr Jeff Block in Florida and is widely regarded as one of the most significant Anthurium breeding projects of the last decade. Anthurium Michelle® is its best-known cultivar, recognisable for its colourful emergent leaves, dark mature foliage, striking venation, and improved vigour. The F3 generation took Best New Flowering Plant at the 2022 Tropical Plant International Expo (TPIE) and has since become a benchmark variety for serious Anthurium collectors.

The RHS Chelsea Plant of the Year Award recognises new or improved plants that push the boundaries of horticulture. For GrowTropicals, the inclusion of an indoor foliage plant on the shortlist is a meaningful moment for the houseplant category.
