Grange Fencing's new Harwich hub creates 30 local jobs
|
Grange Fencing has established a brand new distribution site at Harwich, creating over 30 jobs for the local area. The site at the Essex port comes as the result of a significant investment from Grange’s Polish parent company, Stelmet, with the location being favoured for its excellent supply links to Stelmet’s recently opened £30m manufacturing facility in Grudziadz, Poland.
Grange MD Neil Taylor said the site would enable them to improve distribution across the board, creating operational efficiencies across the company. “The fantastic positioning of the Harwich site in relation to the manufacturing base in Grudziadz will help to shorten lead times and will enable Grange to create a stronger distribution network, working in tandem with our Telford headquarters. This increase in our supply chain efficiency is central to the company’s ability to deliver growth across all aspects of the business, from product development to improved customer service.” Covering nine acres, it is expected that over 2.5m Grange products will be distributed from the new base during its first year.
