Wyevale Garden Centres supports Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal

Wyevale Garden Centres is supporting Marie Curie’s annual Great Daffodil Appeal, by donating 10% from the priceof all daffodils to the charity during March.

This is the second year WGC has supported the Great Daffodil Appeal, Marie Curie’s biggest annual fundraising campaign, which asks people to give a donation and wear one of the charity’s daffodil pins throughout March.

Sarah Fuller, Marketing Director for WGC, said: “Our customers’ support for this initiative is inspiring, with over 100,000 fresh cut and potted daffodils sold this month, raising over £25,000. With a week to go, these purchases will help Marie Curie Nurses care for people living with a terminal illness, so they can spend more time with the people they love. Daffodils are a great way to brighten your home or garden, and we are proud that ours come with the added benefit of raising money for a great cause.”

WGC is supporting Marie Curie as part of a two year partnership as their first national charity partner in its ‘Gardens for Good’ community programme, which recognises the benefits that gardens and gardening can bring to individuals and local communities. Wyevale Garden Centres are aiming to raise over £500,000 nationally from 2014-2016 to help Marie Curie provide care to people with terminal illnesses.

Marie Curie daffodil pins are available at all Wyevale garden centres.
