Greenfingers Charity is launching Floral Friday on Friday 12th June 2026, the first day of Greenfingers trekkers’ ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro. It will be a one-day national fundraising and awareness campaign designed to unite supporters across the UK in a shared moment of colour, connection and giving.
Timed to coincide with the moment the 23-strong trek team begin their climb, Floral Friday invites the industry to come together in a visible show of support, helping to fund the creation of a new garden at Naomi & Jack’s, a children’s hospice in in Winchester.
Supporters are encouraged to:
- Wear something floral
- Share a photo using #FloralFriday
- Donate to support the Kilimanjaro trekkers and Greenfingers hospice gardens
Bearing the slogan 'Wear Flowers. Power the Climb', the campaign is built around a powerful shared message: “Today they climb. We climb with them.”
A Shared Moment of Climb and Celebration
Floral Friday transforms the start of the Kilimanjaro ascent into a collective national send-off. As trekkers take their first steps towards the summit, supporters across the UK will symbolically 'climb with them' through acts of visibility, storytelling and fundraising.
Every floral outfit worn, photo shared and donation made helps drive momentum for Greenfingers’ mission to create peaceful, life-enhancing garden spaces for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Linda Petrons, Greenfingers Director of Fundraising & Communications, said: “Floral Friday is about more than fundraising, it’s about connection and a show of support. On the very day our trekkers begin their ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro, we want supporters everywhere to feel part of that journey. Whether you wear flowers, share a photo or donate, you are helping to build something lasting for children and families who rely on hospice gardens for comfort, play and peace.”
