Rowlinson Group marks centenary milestone

Rowlinson Group, one of the UK’s most enduring family-owned timber and garden specialists, has launched its centenary campaign, celebrating 100 years of heritage, quality, and innovation.

Established in 1926, the Group is marking its 100th anniversary by celebrating the diverse family of brands that have made it a cornerstone of the British timber industry.

The Rowlinson Family of Brands

What began a century ago as a timber sales agency in Manchester has evolved into a global operation encompassing several industry-leading brands. To celebrate the centenary, the Group is spotlighting the unique roles each subsidiary plays within the timber ecosystem:

  • Rowlinson Garden Products: The Group’s flagship consumer brand and a leading UK manufacturer and importer. Known for iconic designs like the shiplap shed and contemporary garden rooms, it continues to define outdoor living for homeowners across the country.
  • Rowlinson Packaging: Established in 1966, this division provides bespoke and standard timber packaging solutions, from wirebound containers to high-strength pallets, protecting goods for the automotive, technology, and defence sectors.
  • Rowlinson Packaging (South): A specialist leader in agricultural food storage, providing vital solutions such as ventilated potato boxes for the UK’s farming industry.
  • Baltic Connexions (Bertilo): Based in Estonia, this international arm manufactures premium timber garden buildings under the Bertilo brand and exports innovative designs to end users across Europe and North America, Asia and Australasia.

The 100-Year Competition

To thank the customers and partners who have been part of their journey, Rowlinson has launched a major centenary competition. They are celebrating 100 years with over £20,000 worth of garden prizes to be won. Running through the end of May, the competition offers participants the chance to win one of 100 of the brand’s most beloved products.

Win a Piece of Rowlinson History

The competition features 100 premium garden prizes from the Rowlinson range, offering 100 lucky winners the chance to transform their outdoor spaces. Highlights from the extensive prize pool include luxury Vienna and Prestbury lounger sets, elegant St. Tropez and Florence canopies, and complete six-seater dining sets. Also up for grabs are a variety of garden essentials, including hardwood plant stands and durable metal deck boxes, offering a diverse range of high-quality rewards for every garden.

Entrants can find full details and enter the competition at the dedicated anniversary hub:

A Legacy for the Future

"Reaching our 100th year is a moment of immense pride for our family and employees," said Jimmy Rowlinson, Chairman of Rowlinson Group. "From my grandfather’s first timber yard in 1926 to our current focus on sustainable manufacturing and carbon reduction, we have always been defined by the quality and design of our wooden products and the strength of our relationships. This campaign is a tribute to the craftsmanship that has sustained us for a century and the innovation that will carry us through the next one."

About Rowlinson Group

Headquartered on a 20-acre site in Wardle, Cheshire, Rowlinson Group remains a family-owned and operated business. With operations spanning manufacturing, importing, and e-commerce, the Group is committed to the sustainable use of timber and maintaining the highest standards of British craftsmanship.
