Consumer interest moves indoors
The story in the Garden Products chart looks to be an increasingly indoor – and festive –  one as winter  edges in.

With many parts of the country experiencing their first frosts, it’s no surprise to see Gardman Frostgard nip into the top spot ahead of Fito orchid drip feeders - but otherwise, the focus is on indoor plants. Sales of cyclamen and the first poinsettias of the season are clearly stimulating the take-up of pot covers, with Scheurich’s dark red pot climbing seven places to snatch the No.3 slot. Another clear indicator of the interest in houseplants is Baby Bio Original’s progress by 14 chart places to No.12.

However, the week’s highest climber is Gardman’s Ice Orb solar lights - a sign, perhaps, that stockists are picking up on our recommendation to display this product in the Christmas department, where store traffic is currently at its highest, to capitalise on its seasonal potential.

Elswhere, donkey ornaments are making their presence felt, thanks to Vivid Arts.
